Born on 13 August 1951 the son of Marius Casadesus (1892-1981) and Gladys Thibaud (1928), pianist
For Gréco, life began according to the expected scenario: Montmartre, the first violin lessons at the age of three, the piano at five, the Paris Conservatoire, eight hours of music a day, etc. And also, the burden of an imposed mission: this very demanding family model quickly prompted in him the desire to decide otherwise… Before composing, Gréco produced: at the age of 22, he was an artistic director at EMI-Pathé Marconi and recorded more than 200 discs with some of the greatest international artists of the time, including Georges Prêtre, Bernstein, Rostropovich, Maazel, Ciccolini, Tortelier, François-René Duchable… An unfailing lesson in music and sensitivity.
At 30, he decided to dedicate himself to composition. His first album, “Voyage Immobile”, attracted considerable attention and brought him his initial encouragement. However, what fascinated him above all was the influence that music can exert on writing for film and stage. His earliest experiences, largely devoted to the theatre (Silvia Montfort, Jean Danet & “Les Tréteaux de France”, Jacques Mauclair & the Théâtre du Marais - a ‘Molière’ award for “L'Avare” in 1989), were followed by numerous contributions for television and cinema.
Amongst them, we can mention Bob Swaim’s “The Climb” with John Hurt, Ray Jafelice’s “Babar, roi des éléphants” and Serge Moati’s “Jésus”.
